The quiet rural farming community of Armstrong is deeply rooted in agriculture, but this small town offers an abundance of services to its residents. Just 15 minutes from Vernon, Armstrong offers a variety of housing options to suit most needs. These include family homes in established neighbourhoods and new builds alike, apartment complexes, retirement communities, and townhome complexes. As well, you’ll find smaller hobby farms, mid size acreages and large-scale farming operations.

Although a smaller sized community of 4,800, the City of Armstrong offers many services and amenities. Memorial Park in the heart of Armstrong has an outdoor swimming pool, spray park, playground, tennis court and skateboard park. During the winter months, residents can ice skate and play hockey at the Norval Arena, and for the remainder of the year, this area is busy with lacrosse and the famous Interior Provincial Exhibition and Rodeo (IPE). The IPE is also held at the fairgrounds which, in addition to the rodeo, hosts the Armstrong Farmers Market, horse shows, dog agility, music festivals and so much more. Mount Rose Swanson is popular with hikers and snowshoers alike and offers panoramic views of the Armstrong and Spallumcheen valleys.

Serve Armstrong and Okanagan College serves the city. The Vernon Transit System offers accessibility to the rest of the Vernon and surrounding areas.

Armstrong Elementary School, Highland Park Elementary School, Len Wood Middle School, and Pleasant Valley Secondary School are the catchment schools for the Armstrong community and Okanagan College provides post secondary education for Vernon and its surrounding areas. The Vernon Transit System services Armstrong and provides accessibility to the rest of Vernon and surrounding areas.
